Police said a Chevrolet Malibu was rear-ended Wednesday afternoon and sent through the front window of the Florida Medical Pain and Relief Center located on Mason Avenue and Vine Street.

Witnesses said a patient heading to the medical complex apparently made an abrupt stop and was rear-ended. The collision launched the car into the office.

Local 6 News spoke with Tony Howard, who rear-ended the woman's car.

"She missed her turn and I guess she was trying to do a U-turn and still make it and slammed on her brakes and I hit her from the back," driver Tony Howard said.

Patients inside the building said it sounded like the roof was caving in, Local 6 reporter Tarik Minor said.

A doctor in the office noticed the out-of-control car and was able to avoid serious injury. However, he and the woman driver were transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are trying to determine the cause of the crash.
