A Central Florida man was arrested Sunday on charges of shooting a couple who rear-ended his car, according to Local 6 News.
Police said Curtis and Theresa Jenkins were driving in Mount Dora, Fla., Sunday morning when they hit a Honda Civic driven by Carey Boyd.
After the accident, police said, Boyd pulled out a gun and shot at the couple several times. Curtis Jenkins was shot five times and Theresa Boyd was shot in the arm.
Both are expected to survive their injuries, Local 6 News reported.
"It was a minor fender bender that escalated into something worse," Mt. Dora police Lt. Roger Chilton said. "It was just a senseless crime."
Boyd fled the scene after the alleged shooting but was found camping out in a wooded area.
He was arrested and charged with attempted murder.
