Florida’s Super Singer Official Rules
1. No Purchase Necessary
2. Registration for Florida’s Super Singer open auditions will be held on 1/10/06, 1/11/06, 1/12/06 and 1/13/06 at KB Home Design Studio 1233 Sand Lake Road, Orlando from 6pm until 9pm. Registration closes promptly at 9pm on the aforementioned dates. An additional audition will be held on Saturday, January 14th.at KB Home Design Studio. Registration on 1/14/06 is from 8am until 11am. Auditions begin at 6pm on 1/10/06 thru 1/13/06 and 8am on 1/14/06 and conclude when all registered participants have performed. Employees of WKMG-TV, Post-Newsweek Television Stations, or KB Home are not eligible.
3. Completed registration and release forms must be signed by each participant prior to audition. Registration and release forms may be printed in advance at local6.com. Blank registration and release forms will be available at the audition during registration hours listed above. Minors must have the release form signed by a parent or guardian. Participants may only audition once during the week of open audition.
4. During open auditions, participants may perform any song they choose “a capella” (without music) for up to 60 seconds. Auditions will be video taped for later judging by the WKMG production team and may be used for promotional purposes. Top performers, as determined by the WKMG production team, will advance to the semi-final round.
5. Performers must be available for Production requirements leading up to and including the Live Broadcast of the Semi-Finals on January 28th, 2006 at the WKMG-TV Studio, 4466 John Young Parkway, Orlando, FL 32804. Performers availability includes rehearsal and profile taping on dates to be scheduled between January 14th, 2006 through January 28th, 2006.
6. Performers will audition with an instrumental track of music (no vocals), up to 90 seconds long. Music will be provided to the Performer on CD from a predetermined song list from WKMG. Each Performer will choose from this song list only, as the songs must meet WKMG specifications. Performances will be judged by a live panel at the WKMG Studio. Once each performance begins, participants must complete the performance without music restart. A technical problem will result in the granting of a re-start. The top five performers, as determined by the Live panel of judges, will advance to the final round to compete in the live broadcast of Florida’s Super Singer on February 11th, 2006 at 7pm at the WKMG-TV Studio. One alternate performer will also be chosen from the group of semi-finalists. The alternates will be used if any of the finalists are unable to fulfill any of the requirements of the contest.
7. Final Round performers must be available for Production requirements up to and including the February 11th, 2006 live broadcast from the WKMG studios, 7pm to 8pm. Finalists must be available for rehearsal and profile taping on dates to be scheduled between January 29th, 2006 and February 11th, 2006.
8. The 5 participants in Florida’s Super Singer live finals show will perform up to two songs from a music list provided by WKMG. All songs in the song list are instrumental versions (no vocals) and are approximately 90 seconds in length. WKMG will have final approval of all music selections and will edit music selections for time. The top two performers, as chosen by a live panel of judges, will advance. The two remaining contestants will each perform a second song. Florida’s Super Singer winner will be determined by the participant’s 2nd performance, with 100% of the scoring coming from the television audience web voting on Local6.com. Once each finalist performance begins, participants must complete the performance without music restart. A technical problem will result in the granting of a re-start.
9. The Super Singer finalist with the highest score in the 2nd performance wins the grand prize: Airfare for the winner and three guests from Orlando to Las Vegas. 2 overnight deluxe accommodations at the Aladdin Resort & Casino in Las Vegas (soon to be Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino) for 4 (2 rooms). Live Performance at Sinbad’s Lounge at the Aladdin (10 –15 minute set). Name on the Aladdin Marquee. Limo Service from the airport to the Aladdin. The winner can not trade the prize in for cash and is solely responsible for all taxes.
10. The decision of the judges is final. All performances become the property of WKMG and may be used as show segments or promotional spots for Florida’s Super Singer.
