Cocoa Beach police are searching Thursday for a purse-snatcher described by a victim as having bad acne and his companion after the pair attacked a woman walking in the north parking lot of Ron Jon's Surf Shop.
The robbery happened about 9:45 p.m., according to Local 6 News partner
Florida Today.
"She was walking to her vehicle. They struck her on the arm and took the purse," said Detective Bill Flack of the Cocoa Police Department.
The woman, visiting the shop from out of state, was upset and shaken but was able to describe one of the attackers.
Both suspects were described as young men in their teens wearing dark clothing with thin builds,
Florida Today reported. She also said both were short, he said.
Police were able to put together a computer composite sketch of one teen.
"He's got acne," Flack said, adding the skin condition of the robbery suspect was even factored into the composite image handed out to patrol officers Thursday.
Flack also said the robbery along the tourist-heavy commercial corridor of Ocean Boulevard appeared to be a random crime.
"The victim is OK, she's just worried about her identification information being missing," Flack said.
Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to contact Cocoa Beach Police.
