$5K pendant snatched during Lady Lake robbery

Sphene pendant is worth $5,800, according to jewelers

LADY LAKE, Fla. – Police are searching for two culprits believed to be responsible for the robbery of a Lady Lake jewelry store that occurred Tuesday.

The duo stole a piece of jewelry called the Sphene Pendant from Gold In Arts Jewelers, according to deputies. The pendant is gold with diamonds and has a Sphene stone in the center, worth $5,800.

According to authorities, the suspects, a male and a female, entered the store and browsed the merchandise for a while before asking an employee if they could see the Sphene Pendant. The woman snatched the pendant from the employees hand after its removal from the show case and both suspects fled the store.

The couple was seen leaving the store driving a black, older model 90s Chevy Hatchback without a license plate. According to deputies, they exited the parking lot of the store and drove southbound on U.S. Hwy 27/441.

The first culprit is described as a black male between the ages of 25 and 30. He has short dread locks and gold teeth. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a brown baseball cap with a holographic sticker on the bill.

The second is a black female between the ages of 25 and 35 and she had short, straight hair tied back in a ponytail.
