Police: Landlord Rigged Intricate Monitoring System To Watch Tenants
Christina Standridge, who is a mother of four children, said she discovered she was videotaped for many hours while inside her home in Parker Bay County, Fla.Police said Standridge's landlord, Judd McDevett, taped Standridge and at least 23 other tenants in the bathroom, in the shower and even in their beds. Local 6 showed video recently released by police of a woman walking nude in her bathroom, unaware she was being watched."I"m appalled by it," Parker police Detective Aaron Wilson said. "These people were in their own private areas. They've been violated and they could have been violated for years and years."Authorities said McDevitt's system included intricate monitors and recorders inside the shed. The wires were buried from the shed to the house and then to hidden cameras.A man in the subdivision noticed wires running into a shed, opened it and found a TV monitoring a bathroom.Police confiscated five computers and hard drives in the investigation.McDevitt faces several charges and possibly two years in jail if convicted.Watch Local 6 News for more on this story.
