A 70-year-old man was hospitalized Tuesday night after he became pinned under a moving car on the Peter Pan ride at Disney's Magic Kingdom theme park, according to Local 6 News.
Disney officials said the man was boarding a car on the ride Tuesday at about 6:40 p.m. with his wife and granddaughter when he apparently fell and was pinned by another car.
The man was flown to Orlando Regional Medical Center with what appeared to be serious injuries. Officials said the victim's condition dramatically improved after he reached the hospital, according to the report.
Initially, the Orange County Sheriff's Office sent homicide investigators to the Disney theme park because rescuers believed the victim sustained life-threatening injuries.
Officials said he is now expected to recover from his injuries.
Disney officials said the ride was closed for a brief time but there was no evidence of malfunction.
The ride will be operating Wednesday, Local 6 News reported.
