Brevard County sheriff's deputies said an anonymous caller said "something was not right" at a mobile home located on Camp Road in Canaveral Groves, Fla.

When officers and animal services entered the structure, they found ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, parrots, turtles, dogs, cats, mice and other birds stuffed into the dilapidated home filled with feces.

Local 6 News showed video of walls covered with hundreds of roaches.

"It was truly a house of horrors by anyone's standards," Local 6 reporter Donald Forbes said. "What they found left many of these seasoned officers horrified and disgusted."

"During yard work, I could smell stuff but I thought it was in the shed," neighbor Joann Ware said. "I had no idea it was in the house."

Police said Wade Fuller, 75, was living inside the home with the animals, including nine dead animals.

"From my understanding, the owner is in the hospital at this time," Brevard County Animal Services spokesman Bob Brown said.

Local 6 News learned that Fuller was in serious condition at Cape Canaveral Hospital but his illness was not known.

Animal control officer said they have been to the home four times in the last five years over neglected animal problems.

The animals were transported to the Brevard County Animal Shelter.

It was also not known if Fuller would face charges in connection with the case.
