Neighbors Angered Over Alligator Killing
Alligator Determined Too Aggressive To Capture
Several Brevard County residents were angered after a Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission trapper was forced to kill a 9-foot alligator that was found behind a home Friday.

The alligator was first spotted in the back yard of a home in Satellite Beach near Lanternback Island Drive.
Neighbors called for help.
When a Fish and Wildlife trapper arrived and confronted the alligator, he made the determination that it was too big and aggressive to capture.
The trapper killed the alligator in front of several neighborhood bystanders.
"It's kind of sad," neighbor Nancy Dow said after the alligator was killed. "I just hope it doesn't happen anymore. I'm sorry I even saw it. It was very disturbing."
Florida Fish and Wildlife worker Bill Robb explained to neighbors why he had to kill the alligator.
"We are not going to run out of alligators and I'm sorry if it bothers you to see a dead animal," Robb said. "I'm sorry about it but that's the way it goes. This is better than some child out here or somebody's nice dog. I made it as quick and clean as I could for him and that's as kind as I could be."
