Investigators continued searching for the couple Tuesday.
Joshua Bryant, 10, and Lillian Martin, 77, were both expected to be at Martin's Deltona home Saturday morning.
However, when Joanne Miller, Bryant's older sister and guardian, went to the house just before noon, neither were home. They are both still missing.
"I can't understand it (just) like everybody else," Joanne Miller said.
Lillian Martin was last heard from on 9 a.m. Saturday morning, according to WKMG News.
"As far as clues, there is not a whole lot to go on," Volusia County sheriff's detective Bob Kelly said. "We're conducting this investigation as if foul play is certainly involved or may not be involved. It's a missing persons case. We're looking at it from both angles."
An FBI profiler was brought in to help determine what kind of person would abduct a 77-year-old woman and her grandson.
Witnesses say that a portion of Martin's home appeared to disturbed.
"We did notice that to the right of her house that the house had been ransacked," neighbor Dawn-Marie Pawlowski said. " She is an excellent homemaker and housekeeper and I noticed that it was ransacked."
However, investigators say that there was no sign of forced entry and nothing appears to be missing from the home, including Martin's purse.
"It just seems really weird, why would someone want to take a 77-year-old woman and a 10-year-old boy," neighbor Cheryl Foster said.
Friends said that Martin did not have any medical problems that would have caused her to just wander off.
"We're all concerned. We're all hurt. We're trying to stay optimistic. We want these people home safe," family friend Diane Brewer said.
No one has been ruled out of the investigation as friends and family members are being reinterviewed by authorities, according to WKMG News.
