DELTONA, Fla. - Volusia County deputies filed an additional sexual battery charge on Tuesday against the Deltona firefighter accused of raping several women.
Terry Freeman, 32, of Deltona, was arrested Dec. 31 after a woman claimed she was raped by him after they met at a Sanford furniture store, sparking a string of victims alleging Freeman attacked them as well to come forward.
The charge on Tuesday marked the sixth case Freeman was charged in out of a total of 12 victims, with an additional victim reported, according to Volusia County Sheriff's Office. The Orange City Police Department has also filed a seventh case with the State Attorney's Office.
Freeman has been charged with one count of sexual battery with a deadly weapon/force, three counts of sexual battery using force, one count of sexual battery with no physical force, one count of attempted sexual battery and one count of false imprisonment.
Tuesday's charge is related to an attack on a 25-year-old DeLand woman who met Freeman through a dating website in October 2012, deputies said. After chatting through the site for a couple of days, the two exchanged phone numbers and agreed to meet at a restaurant near DeLand.
The victim then went back to Freeman's house where he tried to push the victim to go further, but stopped when she told him no. They went out a second time a couple of weeks later and when she told Freeman to stop he didn't and sexually assaulted her after she fought back, deputies said.
Prior to the filing of today's charge, Freeman remained in custody at the Volusia County Branch Jail in Daytona Beach on $550,000 bond. A judge will decide whether to set an additional bond on Tuesday's charge, deputies said.
Other victims or anyone with additional information regarding Freeman are urged to contact the Sheriff's Office at 386-860-7030.
