Scissors Removed From Woman's Throat
Chinese state television showed doctors removing part of a pair of scissors from the woman's throat.Speaking on state television on Monday, one of the five doctors involved in the operation, which took place earlier this month, showed X-ray images of the scissors, lodged in the patient's throat. "You see the sharp points across each other," Doctor Zhong Hui Min said. "We're going to use our special surgical tools to get them out."Speaking after the three-hour operation, a doctor said that a 6-inch blade had been removed. The doctor said further surgery was necessary to remove the longer part that remained in her body. Chinese State television reported that the woman had broken the scissors into pieces and swallowed them. There was no word on why the woman swallowed the scissors, Local 6 News reported.
