Jim Sherman, 54, said he heard a neighbor screaming for help on a baby monitor at a home located in the 1300 block of Tommy Smith Road in Grangerland, Texas Monday night.

Sherman then felt his way along a fence to get to the burning home, found the 84-year-old woman in her kitchen and pulled her out, the Local 6 News report said.

Firefighters then arrived and saved three newborn kittens in the home, according to the report.

The home was completely destroyed by flames.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
