Agents Confiscate Shipment At Fla. Port
Investigators said there was no doubt that the items were weapons."There is no way this could be used as a belt buckle," Local 6 reporter Erik von Ancken said. "This is not a novelty, it is solid metal used for only one reason police tells us. In fact, even the packaging is a joke -- it is spelled 'b-u-k-l-e.' The packaging, from Pakistan and China, reads 'belt buckle' but police say that is ridiculous.""You're going to have a child scarred for life, and possibly not even survive," an undercover agent said while checking the items. Local 6 News interviewed the store owner's brother at his home."You don't believe this is actually used as a belt buckle?" von Ancken asked."No, I don't think so," Kashif Ashfaq said."It's for fighting?" von Ancken said."Yeah, it seems like to me," Ashfaq said."Who buys them?" von Ancken asked."Everybody," Ashfaq said.Ashfaq said his brother checks identification before selling products.Police will likely not prosecute the Central Florida store owner because the shipment of brass knuckles was not delivered, the report said.In December, officers broke up a gang initiation at an Orlando park in which almost every alleged gang member had brass knuckles.Watch Local 6 News for more on this story.
