911 calls released in Kissimmee daycare shooting

KISSIMMEE, Fla. -

Kissimmee police have released the 911 calls on Tuesday in the shooting at a daycare over the weekend.

Police said a 32-year-old woman and her 9-year-old son had been in their car waiting for the Tiny Tots Child Care Center to open on Saturday when the shooting occurred.

In the 911 calls, the the caller describes the child's injuries.

Dispatcher: "I got the shots fired, who needs the ambulance?"

Caller: "The child needs the ambulance."

Dispatcher: "What's wrong with the child?"

Caller: He got shot, that's what I've been saying, he got shot in the leg I think."

Both the mother and the child are OK. Witnesses said a dark vehicle was seen leaving the area at the time of the incident, according to police. Police are still searching for the shooter.
