Casselberry police said the burglary and sexual battery happened at the Stonecastle Apartments on New Stonecastle Terrace around 7:30 a.m. Saturday. The man broke into the home and raped a 17-year-old girl, police said. A 10-year-old girl was also in the home at the time but was sleeping, according to authorities.
Police said two calls were made, one by the girl's mom and then the victim, who says the man came in through the window and hid in the bathroom, asking her for money. When she said she didn't have any, the man then sexually assaulted her, according to authorities.
"I just left to go to work, when I got to my work, my [daughter] called me that somebody broke into the house and raped her," the mother told dispatchers. "Somebody got in and before I left, I lock the door so I don't know how this person got in."
The victim told authorities that the man said if she called police he would kill her. Police said they believe it was a random attack and the victim wasn't targeted.
Police said the man was described as a light-skinned Hispanic who's about 20 years old. He's about 5 feet 9 inches tall and 165 to 200 pounds with a stocky build, a shaved head and his lower lip is pierced.
He was last seen wearing a black shirt, blue jean shorts and a baseball hat.
