Coral Gables Police Dog Runs Away From Home

CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- A Coral Gables police officer has lost his partner.Officer Gordon Dickinson woke up Sunday morning, but when he looked in his backyard, the 4-year-old, 80-pound Belgium Malinois Dickinson works with was gone.Police continue to search for Anatool, who has been with the department for about 18 months.Police believe the dog left the yard willingly. A spokesman for the Coral Gables Police said nobody is going to enter a backyard with a police dog and come out alive.An all-out dog hunt over the weekend for the dog was called off, but a countywide be-on-the lookout is still in effect for the dog.Police said the dog has a good disposition toward people but not other dogs. Police are concerned that the dog could attack if it feels threatened.
