Archie the dog was once an abandoned animal scheduled for euthanasia before being rescued by Heather Peoples.Peoples then decided to enter Archie in the Ugly Dog Contest at the Sonoma-Marin Fair in Petaluma, Calif.She said she did not think the dog had a chance of winning. However, Archie's look quickly became a fan favorite."They ask me if he's got some horrible disease, and I'm like, 'No, this is how he's supposed to look,'" Peoples said.Archie's moles, Mohawk and stomach covered in splotches helped sway the judges."(I) flipped him over on the judges' table so they could see him, and he just lay there, and they loved it."A German film crew plans to interview Peoples about Archie and the pair may be featured in an upcoming "People" magazine.Watch Local 6 News for more on this story.
