Authorities in Sanford, Fla., are investigating the discovery of a man in his 20s found shot in the head on the side of a busy road, according to Local 6 News.
Investigators said a family was driving west along state Road 417 and spotted a man standing outside a late model maroon car and another man on the ground.
The family became suspicious when the car sped away after they passed, leaving the victim on the ground.
A short time later deputies with the Seminole County Sheriff's Office investigated and found the man shot in the head.
"Investigators have a lot more questions than answers," Local 6 reporter Deborah Garcia said. "At this time they don't know who the victim is or who killed him."
Officers said they do not know if the man was killed where he was found or transported to the location, Garcia said.
"We are asking any motorist who was traveling down state Road 417 or on Upsala Road who may have seen a car that may have matched the description or anything suspicious, to contact authorities," Seminole County Sheriff's Lt. Dennis Lima said.
Anyone with information concerning this crime is urged to call Crimeline at (800) 423-TIPS.
