A 21-year-old man accused of fatally slitting the throat of a high school friend and then sexually assaulting her in his parents' home was calm and composed during a 911 call made minutes after the crime, according to a Local 6 News report.
Investigators released a 911 call made by Russell Bradshaw Wednesday in connection with the death of Lisa Memro, 21.
During the call, Bradshaw notified an operator that he had killed someone at a home located on Lake Avenue.
"On the 911 tape, you hear the chilling voice of a very calm killer who admits the murder was not an accident," Local 6's Tarik Minor said. "He later goes on to tell authorities that he slashed her throat from ear-to-ear and then sexually assaulted her.
"911, what is your emergency?" the 911 operator said.
"I'm standing outside the Edgewater Police Department, and I just killed somebody," Bradshaw said.
"OK, what?" the operator said. "You are outside the Edgewater Police Department?"
"Yeah, I'm turning myself in, but there is no one to turn myself into here," Bradshaw said.
"OK, just stay there," the operator said. "OK, hold on one second. What's your name?"
"Russell Bradshaw," Bradshaw said.
"And how did you do this?" operator said.
"Ah, it's all fuzzy to me right now," Bradshaw said.
"Now, was this an accident?" operator said.
"No," Bradshaw said.
Family members said Memro was lured to Bradshaw's parents' house before the attack.
A motive for the attack is still unknown.
The family has started a scholarship fund for Memro. Here is the information offered Wednesday night:
