A militant suspected of being involved in the attack on the U.S. consulate in Libya has been killed, an Egyptian security official told The Associated Press.
The man, known only by his first name, Hazem, had returned recently from Libya, the wire service reported.
The official spoke to the AP Wednesday on condition of anonymity. He told the wire service that an investigation into the man's possible involvement in the Benghazi attack is under way.
Five weeks ago, terrorists stormed the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, killing U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans.
