ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. -

Altamonte Springs police arrested a woman at  a Checkers restaurant Thursday night, five hours after they said she tried to run over two police officers at a nearby apartment complex.

Police said Jennifer Rice was trespassing at the Springs Colony Apartments off Wymore Road. She left, but came back. When police tried to speak with Rice again, she threw her 2007 Audi convertible into reverse and crashed into a truck parked in the parking lot.

"She was going pretty fast through the parking lot," said Edward Keyes, who was sitting in the driver's seat and watched as she drove toward his truck. "Basically, I just held on and went along for the ride as she knocked the truck backwards about 10 feet."

According to police, she then accelerated toward the officers, forcing them to dive to get out of the way.

Seminole County sheriff's deputies and Altamonte Springs police worked together to search for her. They finally arrested her after she called her ex-boyfriend. They agreed to meet at a Checkers restaurant, and the man told police where Rice could be found.

Police say she faces charges of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and fleeing and eluding law enforcement.
