ORLANDO, Fla. -

Orlando is hosting the "Central Florida Pork & Wings BBQ Bash and Competition" this weekend.

The inaugural event will be held Friday and Saturday at the Central Florida Fairgrounds on West Colonial Drive.

"Orlando is a great place for multicultural gatherings that can feature dining, arts, and entertainment for greater market penetration," said R. Stan Kelly, principal of Othal Partners, LLC and the creators of the culinary event, in a release.

$10,000 in prize money is up for grabs as BBQ teams compete for bragging rights. Standard categories include  ribs, pulled pork, beef brisket, and chicken and in a unique twist, there is a category for "wings" for "best overall taste" 

Along with tastings, cooking demonstrations and displays of grilling accessories to enhance everyone's summer grilling experience, those attending the cook-off can also expect  live entertainment, a sports tent, a kid zone, contests and giveaways.

Admission and parking are free. Guests exchange dollar-for-dollar "Pork Bucks" to purchase food and beverages from food vendors.
