Orange County property appraiser Bill Donegan launched an email to political allies this week asking for support for his 2012 re-election bid.

The email sent out Tuesday uses the first name of the recipients to give it Donegan’s personal touch.

The message begins: “Many of you have been my friends since I've been in public office.  I am once again offering myself for public service by running for re-election as your Orange County Property Appraiser.”

Donegan’s long time assistant Judy Merck is listed on the campaign web site as deputy treasurer.

Donegan was elected in the November 2002 special election as the Orange County Property Appraiser. He was re-elected in 2004 (unopposed) and recently won his third term in 2008.
