Blastaway Beach to open at Wet n' Wild

First 35 families in park Saturday get free barbecue

ORLANDO, Fla. -

Wet n' Wild on International Drive is opening a new attraction Saturday just in time for a hot weekend.

Blastaway Beach is the largest waterpark playground in Florida, boasting a secluded beach-themed area for families with kids of all ages.

The 1-acre beach is located next to the park entrance and is built around a sandcastle-themed playground. The playground features 16 slides, two pools and 160 soakers.

Blastaway Beach will hold a grand opening ceremony Saturday at 9:30 a.m., with the first 35 families to enter the park getting free wristbands for an all-you-can-eat barbecue.
