Boil water alert issued in Kissimmee
Water main break affects area
The Toho Water Authority is advising residents to boil water ater a water main ruptured in Kissimmee.
Authorities said the repair has been made, but residents in the Lake Tivoli Apartments and Bella Vista Condominiums are being advised to boil their water for the time being.
Approximately 400 residents are located in the affected area, authorities said.
Residents should boil their water prior to consumption as a precautionary measure.
A vigorous boil for one minute is adequate to make water safe for drinking.
As an alternative bottled water may be used.
The boil water alert will be in effect until a bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink at which time the boil water alert will be lifted by the Toho Water Authority.
