Booms, shakes reported in north central Florida
Officials say noises are military-related
Residents reported mysterious booms and shakes in the north central Florida area that disturbed their homes late Thursday night, the Daytona Beach News-Journal reports.
An official for the Florida Department of Emergency Management said that the agency had been told it was the "military running special ops drills."
The calls were mainly reported in the Levy, Gilchrist and Alachua counties, although they were reported as far south as DeBary.
A Gainesville newspaper said that they sounded like sonic booms.
