One of central Florida's most beloved bookstores is closing down.

Borders announced it is liquidating its remaining 400 stores, which will end up costing more than 10,000 people their jobs.

Borders has two bookstores left in central Florida, one at Orlando International Airport and the other is at Winter Park Village.

Scott Rates reported live from the Winter Park location earlier tonight: ?Despite it being reported everywhere, the employees of this borders say they have not even been told that their store will be closing its doors for good.?

Rates also reported that the second-largest bookstore in the country is the latest victim to the struggling economy, and the impact has been felt right among the employees, who think an announcement will be made to them on Friday. The employees say after that they think they would work for about six to eight weeks before their job would end permanently.

Once the liquidator takes over the store, customers can expect to see lots of clearance items, and sales in order to push out as much merchandise as they can in eight weeks.
