Students at an Orlando middle school were evacuated after a suspicious package was found nearby.
According to witnesses, an older white male driving a white pickup truck stopped in front of Freedom Middle School and dropped a large sealed box in the grassy area and drove off at around 9 a.m., police said.
The package was found across the street at 2850 W. Taft Vineland Road, fire officials said.
A bomb squad was called to the scene, and Taft Vineland Road was closed in the area.
It was determined the box did not pose a threat however; it is in the process of being rendered safe in place.
No other information was known.
