Satellite Beach High School classmates raise money for Ben Wyatt

SATELLITE BEACH, Fla. -

Alumni from Satellite High School have come together to help a fellow graduate whose daughter was killed in a horrific elementary school shooting in Connecticut.

Local 6 news partner Florida Today reports Ben Wyatt, who graduated from Satellite High School in 1991, lost his 6-year-old daughter Allison on Friday.

Wyatt's classmates started a Facebook campaign to offer support and raise money for his family. Florida Today reports the group raised $2,400 in the first 24 hours of the campaign.

Wyatt lived on Merritt Island and currently owns a home with his wife in Sandy Hook, Conn.

The Connecticut Post talked to Wyatt's neighbors in Sandy Hook after the shooting. They said Allison was a kind, nice and outgoing person.

Those interested in donating to the Wyatt family can do so through a PayPal account set up by the Satellite High School alumni.
