The back of an elderly man's home was destroyed after a driver having a heart attack drives into it.
Volusia County deputies said they were called to a home at Providence Boulevard and Elkham Drive around 12:30 p.m. Sunday after a car slammed into the back.
Deputies said the driver of the van was suffering a heart attack when he drove into a Walgreen's parking lot.
Deputies said the driver could not stop, rammed through a fence and ended up in the back of a home owned by an 80-year-old man.
The man's brother-in-law told Local 6 he is deaf and did not hear the car coming or the accident after it happened.
Deputies said a witness from Walgreen's saw the accident and ran to help the man trapped in the car.
Volusia County firefighters arrived and rendered aid to the driver, taking him to a local hospital for treatment.
Deputies said no one at the home was injured.
