Cat finds way home after being lost 200 miles away
Florida family reunited with pet thanks to microchip
A pet cat that escaped from an RV near the Daytona International Speedway in early November managed to make its way home -- about 200 miles away -- a trek that's left scientists baffled.
The New York Times reports that Holly, a 4-year-old tortoiseshell, arrived in West Palm Beach on New Year's Eve at a house about a mile from her home.
Holly, who has a microchip, was emaciated, dehydrated and had bleeding back paw pads, but is doing OK.
The family that discovered Holly reunited the cat with her owners.
Scientists say although possible, it's highly unusual that the cat would be able to find its way home after being that far away.
