Cold weather surprises tourists
Tourists feeling the chill on International Drive
Central Florida was blasted with cooler weather Friday night, taking tourists and some residents by surprise.
Craig McClain of Washington, DC is visiting Orlando with his family, and said he was not expecting the cold temperatures.
"I thought it was going to be a lot of sunshine, before we came it was like 80 degrees and now we got here it's a little freezing cold," he said.
Red flag advisories were also issued for fire weather warnings because of the windy, dry weather.
The cooler weather will continue through Saturday and Sunday, warming up to a high of 70 degrees on Monday and 73 on Tuesday, Christmas Day. Lows will be in the 50s.
But for now, tourists rushed to buy warmer clothes and bundle up until the temperatures pick back up again.
Kiara Santos of Memphis had to buy boots and a jacket for the unexpected cold temperatures.
"I went to the store and bought this stuff because I brought shorts and tee shirts thinking it was going to be warm," she said.
Workers at Gator Golf Adventure Park on International Drive say the cold has put a damper on business.
"Nobody really wants to play golf in this cold weather, I mean it's not been busy at all today," said Michelle Garcia.
