On Monday, city commissioners approved changes to Winter Park's planning and zoning codes to bring a four story, 204-unit condo complex to an empty lot on West Canton Avenue, just south of Winter Park Village.
The commissioners approved the ordinance changes 4 to 1.
Joe Liguori owns a pizza restaurant in the Winter Park Village and says a couple hundred condos next door would be great for business.
"Good news for us, brings more people out, people living right there in our backyard," he said.
However some residents worry about the congestion the new condos may bring.
Michelle Doster has been working in the area for 12 years and says parking is already a nightmare.
"There is not parking capacity at this point to add that to what's already here," she said.
The plan also includes a 4-story parking garage.
