PALM COAST, Fla. -

Flagler County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man Monday when they found marijuana inside his home after he called to report a robbery, according to authorities.

Shaune Lawrence, 54, was charged with cultivating marijuana, possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, officials said. Lawrence was arrested at 4:00 a.m. and is being held on a $5,000 bond, authorities said.

The discovery of his alleged illegal grow operation began when deputies were called on New Years Eve to his home at 5 Fleming Court in Palm Coast.

Deputies said Lawrence told them his home had been invaded by two men trying to rob him. After receiving consent from Lawrence to enter the residence to search for the men, deputies discovered a spare bedroom and a bathroom where active “grow rooms” contained a setup with lights and chemicals used for cultivating marijuana, officials said.

Deputies said they dismantled the grow equipment from the residence.

No one was found inside the home.

According to authorities, the search revealed a total of 110 marijuana plants, which were were recovered and removed from the residence by detectives called to the scene.

At full potential, the plants could have yielded 55 pounds of marijuana with a street value of $44,000, authorities said.
