An Orange County mother is spending her Christmas night locked up after deputies said she left her young son locked in a car unsupervised.

Deputies said 22-year-old Cassandra Richards was fighting with family members and left the 10-month-old alone for about a half hour.

Deputies said by the time anyone got to the baby investigators said he was sweating and that his diaper was overflowing.

Richards was charged with child neglect and was already on probation for trafficking heroin.
