A man has died after falling through a roof Thursday afternoon, according to police.

Pedro Alaya, 56, was working on a roof at a business on West Arizona Avenue when he fell 40 feet through a skylight and landed onto a cement floor, according to DeLand police.

Alaya died of head injuries.

Detectives from the DeLand Police Department werestill on scene investigating and O.S.H.A. was also en-route, police said.

According to a release, "there is no information as to the cause of the fall as the investigation is active however, the preliminary indications are that it was tragic accident."
