Deputies: Man in ICU after rescue from hotel pool
Guests performed CPR until medical personnel arrived
A 50-year-old man visiting central Florida from Pensacola is in the ICU after he was rescued from a hotel pool.
Deputies responded to the Extended Stay Hotel at 8100 Palm Parkway in Orlando around 7 p.m. Saturday night after receiving reports of a near drowning.
When fire and police personnel arrived, they found a 50-year-old white male receiving CPR by hotel guests.
Guests reported that the man had jumped into the pool at the hotel and never came up for air.
When deputies arrived, they continued the CPR and the man transported by ambulance to Dr. Phillips Hospital, where he is currently in the Intensive Care Unit.
Authorities said the man is visiting from Pensacola.
