WINTER PARK, Fla. -

A man wearing a red bandanna covering his face robbed a Winter Park gas station early Thursday morning, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Two employees of the Circle K, at the corner of Par Street and Clay Avenue, were stocking shelves around 3:30 a.m. when the robbery happened.  Deputies say one of the employees ran to the back of the store when the man broke in.

The assailant was able to smash open the cash register and grab an undisclosed amount of money before getting away.

Deputies say an employee saw a "bulge" in the robber's pants and thought it was a gun, but no weapon was actually seen.
