A Polk County sheriff's deputy patrolling on a motorcycle was injured Friday morning after a car crashed into his motorcycle during a traffic stop at an Interstate 4 off-ramp.

Deputy Nick Taylor was pulled over on the eastbound I-4 off ramp to County Road 557 when a car hit his motorcycle, injuring him, according to Polk County Sheriff's office. Taylor was taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash is under investigation. Traffic is backed up in the area, according to deputies.
