A Lake County sheriff's deputy is in the spotlight on Friday after deputies say she wrestled a 7-foot alligator away from a Clermont school.
Deputy Jessica McGregor, 29, wrestled the gator that was trying to get through a chain-link fence at Clermont Middle School as students and faculty were getting ready to exit the school for the day.
The gator was taken away from the school and released.
McGregor, a mother of two, was not injured in the incident.
McGregor has been a deputy with the agency since 2007.
