Disney opens new spa at Grand Floridian resort
Senses Spa opens with New Year theme
Disney is celebrating the opening of its newest way to pamper you.
Senses, a Disney Spa, opened last month with the theme "A New Year, A New You."
The 15-treatment room facility focuses on ways to "invigorate the senses with a Disney touch."
According to Guest Services Manager Randy Turenne, each visit focuses on a specific "journey": relaxation, renewal or imagination.
"You want a journey that is going to take you somewhere else, whether is be a relaxing journey or to reinvigorate yourself or imagine yourself somewhere far away."
Once you select your journey, you'll start your experience with one of three specially designed elixirs, all infused with vitamin C.
The treatment rooms feature specially designed lighting.
"Because it is a senses spa, every feature is customized to your senses," said massage therapist Nichole Murray.
Guest can unwind in the wet area, using the whirlpool, steam room or heated lounge chairs, which maintain a temperature of about 90 degrees.
The spa even offers services for the little ones with Princess and Princess manicures and pedicures.
According to Disney officials, a similar spa will open at the Saratoga Springs resort this summer. Senses-A Disney Spa is owned and operated by Disney and is open to the public.
