The new plan doubles the number of shops, restaurants and other entertainment at Downtown Disney, taking advantage of the waterfront and building a recreation of a spring.
Disney showed off the artwork of the redeveloped commercial area with several districts, such as a town center and a waterfront landing. Disney didn't announce the third-party vendors that will lease space at the new complex, but say it will be a combination of familiar shops and restaurants elsewhere in the country, along with unique shops.
Company officials said they hope the Disney Springs will be a big draw for international visitors, but also designed with Central Floridians in mind.
The redevelopment project will create about 1,000 construction jobs and once it opens, about 4,000 permanent jobs.
