CLERMONT, Fla. -

Lake County deputies are filing multiples charges, including child neglect, against a duo found passed out in the front seat of a car with a 3-month-old baby in the backseat.

Officers and firemen responded to a call around 8:30 p.m. Sunday night that described a yellow Dodge Neon idling in the middle of a road near a stop sign at Pine Island Road and Regal View Loop.

Police say they found Tony and Amber Cox, both 29, unconscious in the front seat. Authorities then turned off the car and moved the baby to safety after ensuring it was healthy.

According to police, both suspects spoke in slurred speech and had droopy eyes. Tony claimed that he let Amber drive after he started feeling tired and falling asleep behind the wheel.

After performing field sobriety exercises, police charged Amber with a DUI. Police also noted that Amber's license had been previously suspended four times, and she had been released on bond on Feb. 2 for driving on a suspended license.

After searching the car, cops found multiple drugs, including Oxycodone and Acetaminophen, as well as a digital scale that Tony claimed was not his.

Both suspects are also being charged with possession of narcotics without permission and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The suspects were taken to South Lake District office, where Tony is being held for a bond of $15,650 and Amber is being held without bond.

Authorities took the baby to its grandfather.
