A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Gainesville pastor Terry Jones by Egypt's general prosecutor after promoting an anti-Islam film that has sparked riots in the Middle East.
Jones, known for threatening to burn the Quran, and seven others have been charged with attacking Islam, spreading false information and harming national unity.
The film, which mocks the prophet Muhammad, is believed to have sparked the attack on the U.S. consulate in Libya that killed the U.S. ambassador and three other Americans last week.
Jones told Local 6 last week that he does believe he is responsible for the deaths.
The man believed to be behind the film has also been charged.
