LOS ANGELES -

To prepare for space shuttle Endeavour's parade, the city of Los Angeles will have to cut down 400 trees along the parade route.

A two-day parade is scheduled in October to celebrate the shuttle coming to the California Science Center, but to make its way through the route, some 400 trees will have to be removed.

The move has some residents upset but the Science Center said it will plant 800 new trees to make up for the loss.

Endeavour was part of 25 space missions and flew nearly 300 days in space.
