ORLANDO, Fla. -

Serving an eviction notice eventually led to the bomb squad being called to an Orlando condo complex on Tuesday afternoon, according to deputies.

It happened at the Cypress Pointe apartment complex at 3979 Versailles Drive.

William Parsons, 52, was arrested and charged with resisting without violence and planting a hoax device, deputies said.

Authorities said they arrived at the complex in the Rosemont area at 9:45 a.m. to serve an eviction notice at the condominiums, but Parsons refused to come out of his apartment.

Deputies said they established a dialogue with the resident and he came out nearly four hours later. However, once inside the unit, deputies said they saw several suspicious devices.

Authorities said they secured the residence and called for the OCSO Explosive Ordinance Device Team, the Orlando Fire Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

18 units around the condo area were evacuated and students from Rosemont Elementary were taken to Lee Middle School, deputies said.
