OCALA, Fla. -

Two adults and four children narrowly escaped a car fire after other drivers alerted them that the vehicle was ablaze.

The incident occurred around 5 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of North Pine Avenue and Tenth Street in Ocala.

According to fire officials, a woman driving the car was stopped at a light when someone ran up to her and yelled, "Your ride is on fire!"

The six people inside the car were able to get out safely before flames engulfed the vehicle.

Firefighters said the fire started in the engine compartment.
