A bill inspired by 2-year-old Caylee Anthony's death has been passed by the Florida House.
The bill (HB 37) was unanimously approved Wednesday by a 113-0 vote after clearing every committee with no votes against it.
It would increase the maximum to five years in prison from a year in jail if someone knowingly makes a false statement to police about a missing child.
Caylee's mother — Casey Anthony — was acquitted of murdering Caylee last year in Orlando but she was convicted of lying to investigators.
A companion measure also is moving in the Senate.
