The five Florida Hospitals in Volusia and Flagler Counties donned red clothing today in support of the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women Day.
Community members were also invited to put on their favorite red attire and join the area Florida Hospitals in creating awareness about the No. 1 killer of women, regardless of race or ethnicity at various heart-healthy events throughout the day.
At Florida Hospital Flagler in Palm Coast nearly 100 employees and community members alike created awareness for the nation’s leading killer at a free heart-healthy breakfast.
Nearly 300 women came out to DeBary Golf and Country Club for a Zumba demonstration, heart-healthy lunch and presentation by Dr. Malika George, hosted by Florida Hospital Fish Memorial.
At Florida Hospital DeLand, nearly 100 women ate a heart-healthy lunch and listened to a presentation on women’s heart health by Christine Aziz, MD.
